I happened to check out MS Mended Little Hearts (Mended Little Hearts provides hope and support to children, families and caregivers impacted by congenital heart defects in order to extend and improve quality of life) on Facebook the other day, and saw where you can begin a donation page to fund research for CHD's like those Avery was born with. Of course, this research is of extreme importance in the life of my family. I decided to being a page to raise money for this cause. The links are above, and I have also listed more information below. Physicians like Avery's surgeon, Dr. Bacha, rely on grants to conduct their research. It's amazing what physicians are able to do, and I can only imagine what they will be able to do in in the upcoming years! Along with raising money, we hope to get Avery's name added to Kenny Wallace's #28 "Hope 4 Tiny Hearts" car (which will be adorned with hearts, butterflies and names of children with CHD's) which will race on August 20 at the Bristol Motor Speedway! I just think that would be very cool (even though I know nothing about Nascar- I'd be a big fan that day, lol). Any way, feel free to just check out the page and even donate if you'd like!
The Chloe Duyck Memorial Fund
Our mission is to raise funding for research initiatives in the area of pediatric congenital heart defects. Though heart defects are the most common and most fatal of all birth defects, they are grossly underfunded. Our fundraising efforts support research while creating awareness for these often fatal defects. We're raising big hope for tiny hearts, won't you join us?
