6 Months and Counting!

I recently hit the 6 month mark, and everything seemed to be going great with Mr. Bryce. I arrived at my scheduled glucose test last week, and all of the my blood work checked out fine. My belly is also measuring normally. For some reason, my doctor decided to do an exam, and she noticed my cervix felt a bit "short." She told me that she was a little worried and sent me down for an unexpected sonogram. With my luck, Jake was out of town (and I knew he'd be really worried when I called), and it had already been a trying few days. While I felt an all too familiar sensation of anxiety and fear fall over me, I prayed quickly that it would be nothing and that Bryce was doing well. My tech. very sweetly showed me that Bryce is still kicking and looking good, and I was relieved to know he is doing just fine.  Thankfully, I measured just above the cut off for bed rest, but my doctor still wants to see me on a two week basis for now. She mentioned bed rest and steroid shots (to help develop Bryce's lungs, etc.) if I begin to have the issues she is concerned about. I am keeping my fingers crossed and praying hard that no such thing happens, and we are able to have him come as expected in mid-January! Many thoughts have gone through my mind, and I have been a bit emotional about the situation (along with several other things); however, God has renewed my strength and given me comfort in knowing he has it all under control. He is good and He is able!! Mrs. Linda has his bedding in the works, and we plan on painting the nursery very soon! I am getting more and more excited at the thought of having another sweet baby in my arms, and knowing I will have a son soon is an amazing feeling!
