Eight and Fabulous

Avery is eight and is as sassy as ever
She's also very funny and abundantly clever
She is giggly, outgoing, and loves to dance and sing
Watching her run and do gymnastics is a very cool thing
She's growing up as anyone can see
And each passing year is incredibly sacred to me
It's amazing to us when we think about how
Her life almost wasn't the dream it is now
Keep moving, Avery, don't just fly- you soar!
When life knocks you down, you jump up with a roar!
Share your joy with all those you meet
And don't ever lose that heart of yours- it's naturally sweet.
Happy 8th Birthday to my very first child
You're special, fun-loving, red-headed and wild!

Avery had her birthday at Malco Grandview this year. She had a great time playing games, celebrating, and watching Captain Underpants with her friends. Her sweet teacher, Mrs. Johnson, came too, so that made this birthday extra special!

Caroline rode with us to the party.

On Avery's actual birthday,  we put out balloons and a sign as usual. I made her favorite chocolate chip pancakes with a whipped cream "8" on top, so she loved that! I couldn't leave Bryce-Man out, so he got cinnamon sugar pancakes with a "B" on top. Avery doesn't usually come up with things she really wants. She loves gymnastics and has continued to take some summer classes, so we ended up getting her a nice mat to practice on. Grammy and Papaw also gave her a little beam that attaches. She loves them both!

We ate lunch at Pie 5 and enjoyed playing at the park. Avery got some money and a Target gift card at her party, so she bought Operation and the movie Matilda. We also enjoyed getting pedicures the following day. The child loves getting pampered! Later that night, we went to eat "Mexico" at our favorite place, El Potrillo, and she wore the sombrero and got surprised with them singing to her. She also surprised her daddy right back by throwing some whipped cream at him!

Happy Birthday to my first baby! You made me a mom, and I couldn't be more thankful for that. I also couldn't be more proud of the amazing little girl you are! I wish you MANY, MANY more HAPPY and HEALTHY days my Avery-Loo-Hoo! You are 8, and you've always been FABULOUS! I love you MORE than you could ever fathom!
