Avery's Preschool Graduation

The LORD will fulfill his purpose for me; your steadfast love, O LORD, endures forever. Do not forsake the work of your hands. Psalm 138:8

Avery, you were BORN TO SPARKLE, and we can't wait to see where God will lead you....
Oh the Places You'll GO

All of Avery's special teachers and helpers at Miss Mandy's wrote messages to her in her book. It is a tradition we began this year, and we hope to continue having all of her teachers sign the book throughout her time in school. Thank you for the awesome idea, Pinterest!

Bryce and Miss Mandy

Miss Dena and Avery's friends at school helped Avery by practicing wearing the "nightgown". They encouraged her and told her everything was going to be okay! Miss Dena even fixed Avery's hair (Princess Hair as Avery calls it) for her graduation. Seeing the love that Avery receives every day at school melts my heart. Her friends all hug her as she comes and goes, all of the teachers speak to her, and she even hangs out with the "big kids" from time to time- they all know her name. Even as a baby, I always felt people were drawn to Avery. Sometimes I wonder if that is part of God's special plan for her life. Avery has grown so much this year, and we couldn't be more proud of how much she has learned. From her speech teacher, Miss Angie, pushing her to accomplish mastering so many sounds and articulating words like a champ, to Miss Dena, her teacher, encouraging her to overcome her fear of costumes and giving her special attention when she struggles academically, to even the school director, Miss Mandy, accommodating her by working one on one to assure Avery learned how to write her name....everyone Avery has come across has touched her life in a wonderful way.

(Miss Dena sent me these)

Jackson, Miss Dena's son, really encourages Avery. He's so sweet to her!

Avery and her friends were ready to shine!

From beginning to end Avery sang and danced with a smile. She knew every word to every song, and she even sang when it was someone else's turn! She even had a special part to lead the class. She was a "jack in the box" which was very fitting for my overly active angel!

Daddy got a special book of all of Avery's work.

Mommy got a special bag of goodies for Mother's Day.

AND....Avery got her very own diploma! She also received a "Citizenship" award!

Grammy came to watch, and GG and Papaw were there in spirit. Papaw had an important doctor's appointment at the same time, and he'd received chemo the day before.

Avery loves her friends...

especially her bestie "Kate-Bug".

Miss Candyce always gives Avery love, and Avery adores her!

Grammy brought Avery a special graduation owl, Mommy and Daddy took her to lunch at Cracker Barrel (yummy pancakes!) where she got a TY Ninja Turtle Beanie Ball (her choice), she went shopping with Mommy (and got a new bathing suit at Target- her fave store), and then had ice cream sundaes at Dairy Queen with Mommy and Bryce-Man. Avery also enjoyed her "Class Ring" Ring Pop that we gave as treats to her friends that day.

KID, YOU'LL MOVE MOUNTAINS!

So...
be your name Buxbaum or Bixby or Bray
or Mordecai Ali Van Allen O'Shea,
you're off to Great Places!
Today is your day!
Your mountain is waiting.
So...get on your way!
