Spring is in the air...

Avery had her endocrinologist check-up with Dr. Dixit last week. She was a little whiney at times, but she really does a great job at her appointments these days. Dr. Dixit is happy with Avery's growth and progress. I expressed some concerns about Avery's issues with focusing at school, anxiety, and being overstimulated often. She is due for blood work any way, so we will see how her thyroid levels look. It's so hard to know if the way Avery behaves sometimes is TS related, medicine related,  medically related to something going on internally (like her thyroid),  or if it's just Avery in general! Regardless,  she's still on track with her growth and progressing at a good pace. We will see how her blood work turns out, and she will also continue allergy testing and see her ENT (a combined appointment with Bryce) next week. Here is Avery (with her "princess hair" compliments of her teacher) along with Bryce at her appointment.

I love spring time! We are surrounded by so much beauty this time of year with sugar coated streets lined with Bradford Pear trees, bright blue skies. and nature's greenery making its debut all over the place. It is so refreshing to walk outside and feel the warmth of the sun and cool breezes! The sound of birds chirping, lawnmowers running, and baseball games are like music to my ears! I LOVE spring because it always symbolizes a new beginning...a fresh start.

We had a great weekend filled with fun! Two carnivals were put on Saturday to benefit Blair E. Batson Children's Hospital. One was at the Kirk Fordice Equine Center. Avery told me she wanted to be a "cowgill" and ride a horse, but she would do nothing of the sort when we got there! She did, however, have a great time playing games AND winning prizes! The kindness of people who volunteer at these kinds of events always warms my heart. Because of baseball season, I don't normally get to take the kids to fun stuff like this as often this time of year...It is too much for this momma! Thankfully, my mom came along to help, and everything went perfectly! On a funny note, it was GG's birthday, and Avery thought the first carnival was her birthday party!

The next stop was the Sal and Mookie's Street Carnival which was awesome! Well, awesome despite the big-headed chef mascot that Avery was terrified of, lol. Bryce was so good all day. He just enjoyed riding in the stroller and being outside. Avery played lots of games and won MORE prizes, played with her friends, Abby Grace and Jackson, met Miss Mississippi (Chelsea Rick), and bounced and slid in the inflatables.

After all the fun, we had GG's birthday lunch at Sal and Mookie's. It was delicious! While the pizza was amazing, the ice cream was even better!

Our final destination was the last baseball game of the weekend. I must say the Choctaws played incredibly well this weekend! They pulled off a 3 game sweep against Letourneau who was previously 16 & 2!  Make that 16 & 5 NOW! Daddy and Mr. Brian were overjoyed!

Even though Avery is now suffering the consequences of being outside all day and being overly tired, I'm sure the weekend was well worth it!

Avery will have her preschool graduation soon! Eventhough she will still complete K4 next year, I cannot believe how much she has grown, learned, and changed! My miracle baby isn't much of a "baby" any more! Here is a pic collage Avery's teacher sent of her practicing for graduation along with her hilariously adorable cap and gown pics!

Thank you God for mine!
