Thankfully, Dr. Ebeid let us know that Avery's MRI images looked good before Christmas, so we were pretty sure going into this appointment that things would be fine. Avery did her usual crying when we turned off I-55 onto Woodrow Wilson. It's kind of funny because she almost goes from genuinely crying to this annoying fake whine! She cried when they called us back to take her vitals; however, she didn't want me to hold her. She walked into the room crying and walked straight onto the scale for the tech to get her weight- it was really funny looking back at how she was acting. In the moment, it just gets rather stressful and difficult to communicate with the staff over the constant whaling. She did walk with her echo tech to get a toy (she picked a little book) and with her Nurse Carley to get a sucker. She talked to Dr. E a little bit, and blew him kisses when he left us with good news. Avery was taken off her Digoxin, which she has been on since birth. He feels sure she will be happier at appointments when she turns 3! It was exciting for us to hear that she is down a RX, and it was a little scary for a moment there too. She was exhausted (as always) when we left the hospital, but in good spirits. She really perked up once she saw her friends at school! My little butterfly is turning into a big girl, and it's so exciting (and sad at the same time) to watch!
