Giving Thanks

Bryce's First Thanksgiving!

November (and now much of December) has been a crazy month for our family. The whole family has had the stomach virus, and Avery has struggled with sleeping and fighting off a cold and cough. She also had what we think was RSV. I've stayed down with this and that, but my body seems to be adjusting to the new BP meds the dr. prescribed. Bryce has suffered with a green/runny nose and eyes, RSV, double ear infections, teething, and fever, and he is now finishing up his 3rd round of antibiotics. Even Jake has struggled with a really bad ear infection! We aren't used to being sick much, so all of this stuff has thrown us for a loop! I'm definitely looking for brighter days ahead!

We celebrated Thanksgiving with my mom and dad on Wednesday and Jake's side on Thursday. Bryce seemed to enjoy the turkey and dressing on his first turkey day!
Dad seems to be taking his chemo fairly well, so we feel blessed by that.  Hoping and praying for complete healing with no more cancer!

Oh how I love when they are sleeping so sweetly!
This does a mommy's heart good.

Bryce is 10 months old!!

Poor Bryce-Man. He came down with RSV and a double ear infection. He was so sick, and we felt awful for him. It came during a week that started off with me missing two days of work with an awful stomach virus. Avery actually had a touch of it that weekend, but she never threw up. The day I went back to work, Jake stayed home with Bryce who had fever. At the time I thought it was the stomach virus because he acted like his stomach hurt. That same day, Jake came down with the virus, so Grammy came over to take care of Bryce. On Thursday, Bryce still had fever, so he and Jake stayed home. Thursday night, Bryce threw up and felt awful (now we know it was from all the junk in his chest), and a bit later....Avery threw up all over our bed! I took off on Friday  morning to keep them home, and Jake returned to take Bryce to the doctor. We had pretty much figured out by then (because of his breathing) that he had RSV! He was exposed to it at daycare the previous week, and I'd been praying he didn't get it! After religiously giving him breathing treatments and medications on a timed schedule, he is finally on the mend. He was so good when we gave them to him. He'd just sit there with it in his mouth for the most part. I am so thankful we caught it, and he didn't end up in the hospital. He's definitely become more of a "momma's boy" the last two weeks. Since he will be out of daycare an extra week for Thanksgiving break, his teachers will probably be having a hard time getting him back in his routine!

Strangely, Thanksgiving day came late this year. It was almost as if some people skipped it and jumped right into Christmas! It did seem to come and go quickly- that is for certain. My brothers and their families are both coming in for Christmas, so I'm very excited about that!

Give thanks to the Lord for he is good his love endures forever!
